The Town of Marathon issues water bills quarterly. Due dates are scheduled for the last business day of the following months:

  • February
  • May
  • August
  • November

Water ebilling

Water ebilling offers a convenient, timely, effective, and environmentally friendly way to receive your bills. These ebills will look the same as your paper copy and your billing cycle will remain the same.

Sign up for ebilling

Please send us a completed ebilling sign-up form to sign up. You will no longer receive a paper copy of your bill.

Payment options

You can pay your water bill online or with telephone banking. You can set Marathon Water as a payee. Be sure to pick Water and not taxes to ensure that you pay the correct account.

We offer a few ways that you can pay your water bill:

In person

You can pay in person at Town Hall, 4 Helmo Dr, during normal business hours. We accept payment by cheque, cash, debit, or VISA/Mastercard.

Drop box

You can drop off cheques in the afterhours drop box at the front door of Town Hall, 4 Helmo Dr. Please bring the detachable portion of your bill.

Please place your cheque in a sealed envelope with 'water billing' written on it. Do not place cash in the drop box.

Bank or trust company

You can pay at your bank or trust company at the teller or through an ATM. You are responsible to pay any of their service charges. Please take the entire bill with you.

You may mail your cheque to:

Please include the detachable portion of the bill.

To avoid late penalties, we must receive your payment by the due date. If you are paying electronically or with a cheque in the mail, please allow enough time for the funds to reach the Town to avoid penalty. There is a late payment charge of 2% based on the amount outstanding that we add to the water utility account the following week after the due date, and on the first week of each subsequent month thereafter.

Water declaration

Declaration of Occupancy Water Rates Multi-Residential Properties submissions are due the last business day of the following months:

  • January
  • April
  • July
  • October

Please send us a completed Water Declaration forms before the due date to be considered.

Changes to water service

To have your water turned on, or off you must complete the Request for Change to Water Service Form.

Our fees are:

  • $95.72 for same day on and off service (during regular business hours).
  • $78.96 to have water turned on or off only (during regular business hours).

Please be aware that to have water turned on there must be a homeowner or contractor present. After hour emergencies and holiday fees vary and will be made available at the time of request.
